Earthing While Driving - Is It Possible?
Oct 30, 2015
Many have wondered or asked the question, "Can I really practice Earthing while diving?" The uncertainty most have about Earthing and driving is due to the fact that vehicles have rubber tires touching the Earth and rubber being a synthetic material is not conductive. So the question is then, "how can Grounding occur while inside a vehicle?"
Yes it is true that you cannot truly practice Grounding in a car because the rubber tires prevent direct contact with the Earth. However, you are able to discharge the static electricity that causes harm to your body while in motion in your vehicle. You can do this by use of an Earthing aid which utilizes the metal frame of your vehicle. When driving the main issue drivers face is a buildup of static electricity due to their shirt or jacket vibrating against the back of their seat while in motion. The driver and passenger in the front seat are also exposed to voltage and EMFs coming directly off the dashboard so this static discharge can be somewhat neutralized if they are able to be Grounded while in motion.
While in your vehicle you actually have a relative Grounding plane supplied by its metal frame. An Earthing auto mat can be used which is designed to clip to the metal understructure of your seat that is bolted to the vehicle's metal frame. By doing this, you capture enough of a Ground plane effect to help with the wear and tear your body feels from long term driving. The relative Grounding plane in your vehicle is enough to ease the stress on your nervous system while in motion. For example, the buildup of static electricity from driving that shows up as sleepiness, headaches, road rage, poor night vision and tension in the shoulders, neck, back and legs will be significantly less if Grounded to your vehicle while driving. The Earthing mat will discharge the voltage, EMFs and static electricity and put it back on the frame of the vehicle.
An Earthing auto mat is designed to be a proper seat pad made of conductive carbon fibres that are set into a nylon fabric that is backed with a soft, nonskid material. Alternatively, a regular Earthing mat may be used on your vehicle seat in which you simply snap an Earthing cord on the mat and fasten the clip or other end of the cord to some bare metal under the seat of your vehicle. So by attaching the Earthing mat to your vehicle seat you are able to avoid the static electrical buildup transfer and feel that much better and safer while driving.
Although technically you cannot practice Earthing while driving, the Grounding mat does dissipate any electrical charge that accumulates while your vehicle is moving so it is a worthwhile effort especially if you are driving long distances. Does the body’s contact with the pad need to be with the skin for the most benefit? Will the clothing reduce its effectiveness?

The clip comes with the product. I think you could use any metal clip, that what it looks like in the picture. I did notice that Earthing Canada no longer sells them. But I found them here: https://www.bioenergyproducts.com/product/grounding-mat-pads/grounding-car-pads/
I have the mat already. How can I purchase the car clip ?
